The Licorice
Calabria boasts a very ancient tradition in the cultivation and production of liquorice. It is concentrated in this region, around the 80 percent of the national production. The Licorice Museum, inaugurated in 2001, rises in the ancient production plant of the Amarelli company, which has been carrying out the cultivation, harvesting and processing of liquorice for more than three centuries.
The Liquorice Museum offers visitors a fascinating journey through time, bringing to life the ancient experience of producing and transforming liquorice, and telling the story of the product and its evolution over time.
